Job Description:

Summary/Objective

A key executive that exhibits strong technical, managerial and business development skills within the Finance advisory team of blumshapiro. This person will assume a lead advisor role for client relationships within this group.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct assessments of back office finance, accounting and related operational infrastructure, focused on people process technology and data and information. Identify process and effectiveness gaps, provide recommendations for improvement aligned with company strategy, including assisting client owners and managers with strategic thinking.
  • Execute and deliver projects related to finance and back office infrastructure including, but not limited to, cost analysis, preparation of current and historical financial information, integration of applications, profitability assessments, finance transformation and related project management, implementing lean concepts into processes, organizational capability review.
  • Manage the periodic accounting close, accounting issues, client relationships, tax and business compliance items for various small and middle market clients in various industries.
  • Manage teams of accountants and consultants for project execution and personal and career development.
  • Manage vendor selection projects, including requirements understanding, RFP creation, vendor analysis, facilitating vendor demonstrations and post analysis, contract negotiation and project management.
  • Onboarding / setting up companies on accounting and transactional integrated applications, including accounting software, expense management, payables workflow and electronic processing and payroll integration.
  • Foster relationships within and outside of the firm, including deepening relationships with current clients.
  • Developing, maintaining and providing leadership input to the BPO organization.
  • Create proposals and manage the proposal and sales process from initial conversation to contract signing, including collaborating with other experts and service lines within the firm
  • Engage in and pursue business development.

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and experience as CFO
  • Industry experience with SAAS, non-profit, or hospitality preferred
  • Outstanding leadership and talent development experience
  • Strong business development and selling skills, generating leads, making contacts and securing clients
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to problem-solve and think creatively and ability to speak with executive leadership
